Steven G. Orshan, M.D. |

Steven G. Orshan founded Nassau Queens Pulmonary Associates in 1989. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. Throughout the years he has been dedicated to the highest quality of patient care and has demanded this from himself, his partners and his colleagues.
Dr. Orshan graduated medical school from Downstate Medical Center in 1985 and went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at Kings County Hospital Center. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center/Queens Hospital Center in 1988. Upon completion of his training he was honored with the position of Chief Medical Resident at LIJMC in 1988 and established NQPA in 1989.
Dr. Orshan has many other professional accomplishments including Phi Beta Kappa, President of the Long Island Jewish Medical Center Staff Society (1997-1998), member of the Quality of Care Committee at LIJMC as well as many others. Presently he is involved in resident education at LIJMC heading a project to improve resident teaching at the institution via the Medical Education Foundation. He has many interests outside of medicine including tennis, skiing, biking and most important a close family life. Nevertheless he is a dedicated physician who finds ample time for all of his patients. |

Arthur Trust, D.O. |

Dr. Arthur Trust joined Steven Orshan, MD in 1990 and helped co-found Nassau Queens Pulmonary Associates. He is board-certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Trust graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, Des Moines, Iowa in June 1983. His postgraduate training was completed at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Dr. Trust was awarded the Dr. Edward Meilman Fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine. Following this he was honored as the senior chief medical resident for the Department of Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is also a Fellow in the American College of chest Physicians.
Membership societies include the American College of Chest Physicians and The American Thoracic Society.
Dr Trust has served on hospital committees for Quality Assurance, and The Advisory Committee to the Dept of Medicine at Long Island Jewish.
Outside interests include committee work for the Roslyn School district CPSE committee for special education. Other interest includes pulmonary disease in the athlete.
Most important, Dr. Trust is devoted to his wife Stacey and their three children.

Seymour Huberfeld, M.D. |

Dr. Seymour Huberfeld is a graduate of Yeshiva University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and was Chief Medical Resident from 1991-1992. This was followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at LIJ.
Following this, he joined Drs. Orshan and Trust in July of 1995. Dr. Huberfeld has a particular interest in sleep disorders and is the director of the Nassau Queens Sleep Disorders Center. He also coordinates the hospital care of the practice. Dr. Huberfeld, his wife Lori, and their four children live in Lawrence, New York and are active members of their local synagogue organizations. Dr. Huberfeld also maintains a close relationship with the residency program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and often has LIJ residents working with him in the office practice. He is dedicated to the highest ethical standards in medicine and to providing an uncompromising level of care to all of his patients.

Mai Liu, D.O. |

Dr. Mai Liu graduated medical school from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996. He went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in 1999, and he subsequently completed a fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in June 2002. Upon completion of his training, he joined Nassau Queens Pulmonary Associates in July 2002.
Dr. Liu is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Liu is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians(FCCP), he is also a member of the American Medical Association. His outside interests include sports, travel and theater.

Joan Kremen, N.P. |

Joan received her BS and Masters degree in Nursing from Molloy College. While working at Long Island Jewish Medical Center she completed her nurse practitioner program at Stony Brook University Medical Center and became certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in 1995.
Since joining Nassau Queens Pulmonary Associates in 1998, Joan has been a valuable asset to the practice. In addition to her compassionate nature, and kindness in providing quality primary care, she is responsible for patient education, research, smoking cessation and specialized medication administration.
Joan pays meticulous attention to every detail and works tirelessly with the physicians and the staff to improve the quality of care for all patients.
